Hello, my name is Mike and I live in the Netherlands.
My father died 11 years ago and left us a 16 convertible. This boat was my father’s pride and joy. My problem is that the registration papers are nowhere to be found and to re-register I need to know what year the boat was built.
Can anybody tell me how I to find this out?

Hello Mike, This model was built 1958-1961. The hardtop was modified 1961. Do you have any photos?

The hardtop is missing but I remember it was the more sqare-one, so possibly the modified one.
In the back, near the outboard motor is a number carved. Maybe that helps? 166061

The square-shaped hardtop suggests it is from the 1960s, and the number is probably the serial number of the boat. According to the Coronet factory production books, boat number 166061 , a red 16 Convertible, was built in April 1960 and delivered to Schepers in the Netherlands May 2nd, 1960. The 16 is in good shape but missing some original details.
We (my mother) is thinking about selling the boat but not to just anybody. The new owner will have to be a Coronet-freak 😄
