Dear Forum,
Since one week I am the proud owner of a DC21 and just became member of this Club. Sorry I don't speak Swedesh.
I bought the DC 21 in Berlin and it is - besides a few accessoires and the kitchenbox - in quiet original condition. Piece by piece I would like to restore it.
Am I right, when I think that, when the boat left the factory, the woods in the cockpit
- floor panels
- side panels
- door to the cabin etc.
were not varnished, but just treated with oil?
Please let me know.

Hi,
My opinion is that on a 60’s boat the floor, steering wheel and the thin strips of wood along the sides were treated with oil. All the rest was varnished.

Hi,
I agree on the floor and the thin strips, but my steering wheel is varnished. That can be practical to keep it clean. A previous owner might have varnished the wheel.
A varnished floor can be extremely slippery when wet, I had that on a different boat, looks good, but slippery.
Regards
Johan
